Pastor Josh Cooke
My name is Josh Cooke, and I am the Pastor at Black Mountain Baptist Church in Little Switzerland, NC. I was born and raised in Mitchell County and currently reside in Bakersville, NC. The Lord saved me on February 5, 2014, and called me to preach on February 15, 2015. I served as Associate Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Bakersville, NC for 1 year prior to being called to Black Mountain. I have been the Pastor at Black Mountain for 6 years. I attended Blue Ridge Bible College, where I received my Bachelorette in Theology. I am married to my wife Jennifer of 23 years, and we have 2 daughters Abby and Emma. My Story
I was born and raised in Spruce Pine, NC. I attended church all of my life, but never had a relationship with Jesus Christ until February 5, 2014. While sitting in the back of Calvary Baptist Church on a Wednesday night, the Holy Ghost came to where I was at, convicted me of my sin, and drew me to and old fashion alter. I was gloriously saved that night and have never been the same. God has been so good to me and my family. The Lord called me to preach one year later, where I served as Associate Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church. During my tenure there, the Lord opened doors for me to preach at various churches. The first time that my family and I visited Black Mountain Baptist Church, I knew that was where the Lord was going to settle us to Pastor. Since then, we have seen God do so many great things and we give him all of the glory and honor. We love the old path and believe that the King James Bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God.
